Answer» Running win xp. Cable connected to wired router (linksys) and router to computer. Can ping router at 192.168.1.1 and change settings though firefox. Cannot ping any website. INTERNET gateway shows packets received but not sent. I have tried restarting router and computer and Releasing and renewing ip. What do I do to connec to Internet?Click on the Start button.
Click on the Settings menu option.
Click on the Control Panel option.
When the Control Panel opens, double-click on the Network Connections icon. If your Control Panel is SET to Category View, then double-click on Network and Internet Connections and then click on Network Connections at the bottom.
You will now see a list of AVAILABLE network connections. Locate the connection for your Wireless or Lan adapter and right-click on it.
Simply click on the Repair menu option.
Repair Internet Connection

ALTERNATIVELY, if your network icon also appears on the Windows taskbar, then you can repair it by right-clicking on the icon and selecting Repair .It's a problem between the router and MODEM.
