Solve : Created my 1st home network to share printer. How secure is this setup??

Answer»

I've never tried to set up a home network before and I may have made some mistakes. But the main intention was to be able to print to my HP usb printer via either of 2 laptops (HP 2000 / Windows 7 and HP 6715b / Windows Vista) on this wireless 802.11n network. I did finally accomplish this but I'm WORRIED that I may have compromised security between me and several close neighbors. I have an AT&T U-Verse wireless primary router with a Belkin router hard wired to that. I'm using the Belkin router for these wireless networks including internet access. I have them set to "Private Network" and all file and print sharing is set for on with no password required. Is the WPA2 security on the AT&T router and WPA2 security on the Belkin router enough for me to be secure from outside threats? I'm running COMODO firewall on both machines with Windows firewall turned off.
Just want to check with you guru's about this since I know very little about networking.
I'll attach a network map and network sharing center list for both machines in case that helps here.
As always; thanks for any HELP!!!
Mike

WPA2 is pretty good, much better than WEP or no security at all. Anyone wanting to get into a network wardriving is going to look for open wifi without security or WEP which is easy to crack.

Unless you need file sharing, I'd shut that off. But good JOB in making it WORK with WPA2 security enabled for first home network printer share. Thanks for the response DaveLembke!
I took me a couple of days and several failures to get this done and I didn't really keep a record of what actions I took. But it's working fine to print wireless from either PC so that's good. I'll likely have some more questions but I was mainly concerned with the way the map viewed on the Windows 7 / HP2000 machine (1st attachment in my first post) shows the location of the HP6715b machine twice, once behind the Belikin router and also again between the Bekin router and the internet. Why does it show that machine twice and why is one of those locations shown in front if the Belkin router?
Thanks again for the help!
Mike
