Now there are more than 30 pc & servers. From server the LAN cable is to the switch1(straight),From switch1 to switch2 is cross over . 1. How was this network set up before? 2. Is the server a DHCP & DNS server or just a file server? 3. Are there no diagrams/plans/information on the previous setup? 3. Are the systems set up with static or dynamic IP's?
More information needed than what you have given to help

A cross over network cable is only used when you are connecting only 2 computers together without a router in between them. If you are connecting to a router, on all computers you need straight through cables to the router. My home network is only 2 computers and i use a cross over network cable. It eliminates the need for a router.
programming_pat1. How was this network set up before? The first time setup. 2. Is the server a DHCP & DNS server or just a file server? I don't know. (sbs 2003)3. Are there no diagrams/plans/information on the previous setup? 3. Are the systems set up with static or dynamic IP's? What they mean?
All pc has ip address with automatically.in the properties of LAN ip address automatically.
there are two type of wiring.568A & 568B Why these two are obtaining? What may I use?Pls help. Previously there are five pc & they connected through switch. As I saw them they all different. So I want to know the STANDARD method for crimping. straight cables are used when you network more than 2 nodes or pc via a network switch and you will to use crossover if only 2 pc's are on the network.more or less you know the arrangements of the wires and you have the idea the difference between these 2.
