Answer» I am on dial-up & a STORM knocked me off line. Now I can't get back on line. It keeps saying no answer after dialing & goes on to another number. It does this til after 5-6 numbers I don't try again. But on another computer, it goes right thru. I plugged a phone into the walljack that computer was plugged into & it works fine. If the storm did SOMETHING to the tower, what is my solution? Thanks! it sounds LIKE to me that your modem is fried can you hear the dial tone on the modem or anything that sounds like it's dialing out I can hear it dialing the number, but after that is when it comes back to say no answer, trying another number.
