Solve : dial up slow page loads?

Answer»

i have a internet dial up that is free for my state of washington and the pages take a long time to load what can i do to get the pages loaded FASTER i have windows xp Dial up internet connections are limited to a real max of 50 kbps or so. The only way to improve this is to select a broadband option, e.g., cable or DSL.

To improve the loading (speed up the loading) of web pages, there are several services that compress data that work very well, in my experience. These services won't affect download speed but will reduce the amount of data downloaded. In other words, they won't decrease the download time of a file from the internet but will speed up the loading of web pages.

Best of luck.if i had that kind of money then i would not have to have free internet Search online for "dial up accelerators."are they free Put 'free' in your search. I don't know of any. This PAGE is a pretty good resource.the page is for netzero which costs money also the reply that says they don't know of any accelerators should not answer my post if they can not help thanks Regardless of whatever Dial-up accelerators you install, it's STILL dial-up, and still limited to the 46kbps(or whatever it is) FCC limit set on data TRANSMISSION through phone lines.

No, the first entry on the page lists Netzero -- but if you scroll down, you will FIND several other options, several of which ARE free.

And if you still don't have any luck after that, you might have to live with it. It's free. You get what you PAY for. (well, except in this case, where you get more then you pay for.)okay so which one do i download and run on my computer any suggestions i don't want a virusI posted the page I did in order to give you some overall information about dial up. The Ashampoo software further down the page is only free for TEN days. The Speed Guide software can be downloaded HERE. It looks like Speed Guide will let you change settings on your computer to help data move more efficiently.

I used a dial up accelerator a number of years ago. I don't remember which one it was. It was not free, but cost about thirty dollars for the year.

I wish more web pages gave the option of downloading text only.
