Answer» i have a internet dial up that is free for my state of washington and the pages take a long time to load what can i do to get the pages loaded FASTER i have windows xp Dial up internet connections are limited to a real max of 50 kbps or so. The only way to improve this is to select a broadband option, e.g., cable or DSL. To improve the loading (speed up the loading) of web pages, there are several services that compress data that work very well, in my experience. These services won't affect download speed but will reduce the amount of data downloaded. In other words, they won't decrease the download time of a file from the internet but will speed up the loading of web pages. It looks like Speed Guide will let you change settings on your computer to help data move more efficiently. I used a dial up accelerator a number of years ago. I don't remember which one it was. It was not free, but cost about thirty dollars for the year. I wish more web pages gave the option of downloading text only.
