Answer» Hi all, I want to know if my NIC is faulty.
I cannot ping other computers (destination host unreachable) and I cannot OBTAIN an IP address from the server.
When I plug the RJ-45 in the green light comes on and the orange light KEEPS flashing.
Should I replace my NIC or is it another problem
Please help
A few things that I'd check first:
Device manager to see if there are any ?'s
try pinging yourself (127.0.0.1)
Also, are you SURE that WHATEVER network you're hooking into is working properly? Do you have other computers to test this on?Thanks for the reply.
I am so confused now, I checked device manager and there are no ?, I can ping myself but now one else! The n/w is working as I have 90 other computers to test it.
I am at a total LOSS. If you have 90 other computers on the network, do you have another nic card nearby you could try? Couldn't hurt to test that out.
