Answer» 2 PC home network.Running Windows XP on both.Client PC wasn't getting Internet connection.I DISABLED Windows Firewall on both PC's and downloaded a free firewall. Now both PC's working fine. Question:Does the client PC even need a firewall? Isn't everything coming through the host first and therefore being protected by the host PC?Keep the firewall. And put AV on both machines.I tell my clients..."Never assume anything! Take responsibility for yourself".
In addition to 2k_dummys good suggestions get a lot of anvispyware protection as well.
Alan <>< Thank you for your answers.I'll keep the firewall,to be on the SAFE side. But it doesn't explain the need for it, if the host computer has one already. As far as Anti VIRUS and spyware,I'm well covered.
