Solve : Do Routers go bad??

Answer»

I think my IP address issues stems from my router.  Could that be POSSIBLE?  Do routers go bad?  I connected to a different wireless network connection (maybe my neighbors?)  and it appears my IP address is now fine.  If so, I'll buy another router or should I just keep mooching off my neighbor?Any HARDWARE can go bad over time or under certain conditions (static shock, environmental conditions, etc.). Don't you already have a thread regarding this issue? Try continuing it there. Quote

LOL.  Well, from an ethical standpoint, I think you know the answer.  I don't think any regular members WOULD recommend you do this, even though you might get away with it for a long time.

When I discovered someone in my neighborhood was connecting via my wireless router, I got smarter and enabled WPA security in my router and put a stop to it.  I still don't know who it was and I really don't CARE to know.  And, I doubt they were depending on my connection, since I had not owned my wireless router very long before I discovered this.  But, I wouldn't advise anyone to do this on a regular basis without permission.
