I'm interested in finding out the real OWNER of a domain name (because I have done a whois on one) and it's bringing up a fake administrator's contact details. I'm looking to find out a real name associated with this domain name.
What tools should I use? How should I APPROACH this? Any help would be WELCOME. I'm a little stuck here.
How do you know it's showing "fake" details if you don't know who OWNS the domain?If the WHOIS data is incorrect or privacy-guarded, your only real OPTIONS are to contact the domain registrar or the relevant registry. Unless you are a law enforcement agency or have a court order, however, they are unlikely to assist you.
