Solve : Earth-like Planet?

Answer»

Life on the New Planet?

On Tuesday, a team of European astronomers announced that they had not only found a new planet circling a comparatively nearby star in the constellation Libra, but that that planet is unexpectedly Earth-like. Like Earth, it orbits a comfortable distance from its sun; like Earth, it maintains a surface temperature somewhere between 32 and 104 DEGREES Fahrenheit. Most importantly, like Earth, it could easily HARBOR surface water. In the biological arithmetic we know best, warmth and water often equal life.

If they find evidence of an advanced civilization, I will be very amazed.  You never know, I mean think about this; if the dinosaurs had not died out can your imagine what kind of life would be on this planet today, perhaps monkeys would not have evolved into humans and we would be dealing with a very different kind of life.

So just image what could be on other worlds.

Hmmm...good point.

However, I partly meant it would be amazing if NASA found something.  Well you never no, i doubt it will be in or life time sadly. Very interesting.  Maybe now we can ditch this dirtball and go SCREW up a new planet!I'm up for that!Pity we were born so soon, because the future explorers will be like the cowboys of the Wild West, but seeking out new planets to claim their own instead of venturing DEEPER into the new world (America).

It would be incredible...

Cool!Huh.... that should be interesting. wow thats so kool!!!Jupiter's Moon Europa Suspected Of Fostering Life

Europa, Jupiter's smallest moon, might not only sustain but foster life, according to the research of a University of Arizona professor.
Richard Greenberg, a professor of planetary sciences and member of the Imaging Team for NASA's Galileo Jupiter-orbiter spacecraft, reported in the February issue of American Scientist that a combination of several factors could CREATE habitable niches.

Europa, similar in size to Earth's moon, has been imaged by Galileo for the last 4 years. Its surface, a frozen crust of water, was previously thought to be tens of kilometers thick, denying the oceans below any exposure....
