Solve : failing new computer? |

Answer» i have just upgraded my computer to a Foxconn MOTHERBOARD (6150k8ma) which came with a AMD 3700+ PROCESSOR and heat sink etc. when it was DELIVERED i found i needed to buy DDR DIMM ram, so i bought a 512MB stick of that. when that arrived, i found that i needed a 24 pin PSU. so i just went out and bought that. its a 500w sum vision 'power x' psu. Have you tried reseting the cmos? (Leave the battery in) If not look for the jumper on mother board called "cmos" move it over 1 unit and leave there for about 1min(shouldn't even take 30 sec.) just to be on the safe side then move it back over to its original place. If that doesn't work take the battery out for about 1min. and see what happens from there.ive just tried both with no success. maybe i should try it with everything except cpu + memory out?It will not even boot if you take the cpu and the memory out. You HAVE to leave the cpu and memory in for it to boot(if it will boot).no, i meant to take everything out, EXCEPT the CPU and RAMAlso I forgot to mention, there is an auxillary power port on your motherboard right. You have to have a auxillary power cable plugged in. Many computers will not boot without this as the normal 20/24 pin is not enough.i love you. ive had a long day, i would have missed that forever. now, the next problem is to get the computer to see the SATA HDD i have. not sure how to set it up through the BIOS as i used to have it plugged into my computer through a PCI card. any suggestions folks? regards, lukeThere's not really much I can tell you as I do not have the same motherboard or BIOS. You do need it configured in the BIOS though. Search around on Google. Sorry I can't help with this problem . Or if you have the old PCI card laying around somewhere try it with that. The HDD drivers need to be installed for that drive. And they reside on the CD that came with the motherboard. |
