When I right click my harddrive, istead of open, it says Autoplay in bold. Then the other commands like Open and Explore. I can still access all of my hard drive. Anyone know what could be buggy?When did your problem first occur?

I didnt delete the virus. I cleaned the files that it had infected. Ive scan many times and removes the spyware ans trojans.But the virus is still present? I suggest you scan in safemode with up to date virus definitions.

My DVD was working perfectly fine and now when I put in either a blank CD or one with data it shuts down my computer and re-starts it in SAFE mode asking me if I want to return to windows or start with the last good configuration.  I have followed the trouble shoot steps and nothing WORKS.  My device manager SAYS the device is working properly.  Can someone help me with this?
Thankssboyter......I would physically disconnect your problematic DVD......by removing the IDE cables and power supply to it and then reboot your PC ......make sure theres no sign of it ....If you have another cd player in your pc ..just make sure it works ok .....then if it does .......shut down .....reconnect the IDE cable and power supply ......reboot and LET windows reinstall the new hard ware .

dl65  Thank you.  Actually I removed the registry entry and re-started the computer.  This seemed to fix the problem!

i'm tryin to use rm converter. but it SAYS i'd have to INSTALL directx 8.1 or higher. i just INSTALLED 8.1.. but when i OPEN the PROGRAM.. it gives out the same message.."i need to install directx 8.1 or higher.. blah blah blah".. why is this so??      :-/ might need to reinstall the  RM  Converter to get it to recognize the DirectX.  Also DirectX have 9.0 now.

CLIENT services for NETWARE has diabled the welcome screen and fast user switching. To RESTORE thses features, you must uninstall client services for netware.  Help what this all about and what to do? On your XP machine the Novell Client had disabled the fast user switching feature.  This is good because the new user is FORCED to relogin to the server.

What to do?  Like it says, uninstall the client (no more network for you) or leave it and do without fast switching.  I'd do without switching if I were you.

I am having trouble finding a Wi-Fi driver for my Gatway LT20 Netboook. I checked the Gateway website for the driver, but Gateway doesn't have any drivers for windows 7.  This is a fresh installation of Windows 7 Service PACK 1 Starter Edition. I tried using Windows Update, but it constatlly says "checking for UPDATES" but not of the updates come up.

Note: I know its not my version of windows that is causing issues with Windows Update. I have used this version on an older desktop that I have that works perfectly fine.

Can you please help me?

I'm using ASUS X450LC laptop starting 2014. Few days ago i'm using DriverEasy software. After some UPDATE i REALISED that the sound wasn't there anymore. TRIED to install another driver with the same version but nothing happen. till now i doesn't haves ound anymore,

Hello, i wanted some help from computer profesionals so i made this massage. I have windows 10(64bit) and i hahve a [Canon i-sensys MF3010] printer. i already downloaded drivers and softwere aswell as installing them. i tryed every single way i could think of and still nothing when i try to uninstall a softwhere or driver the uninstallation will not respond so i cant redo it. I tryed it by uplying it in drivers and printers but i cant do that it doesn't work. and when i try to install it easy way by and exe program i go thrue all the STEPS but on the last it says plug in your printer to finish the installation but when i do it does nothing{ my guess is that my printer in panel is named and unrecognized USB and the program searches for mf3010 and it doesn't find it cause it's named unrecognized} so im asking help from u to help with my problem. Did you buy it in Europe or the USA?
On You  Tube there are LOTS of videos about this printer. The European model may be slightly different.

The last computer that I worked on where some other "tech" had used Driver Booster had to be reformatted and have the operating system reinstalled.
Most of these programs are like Registry Cleaners/Boosters-snake oil.
As Bruce indicated, it's best to go to the manufacturer of the hardware/firmware or the computer for updating drivers. That being said, general rule of thumb is "If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it."

I use Firefox ( currently on 38.0.5 ) I have gone through several upgrades on F/F from 29 onwards. All the same. The O/S is Vista home on a Dell Laptop about 7 yr old.

Over recent times the VIDEO has been stalling. Youtube video, same freezes... move the mouse & away we go.. Seems to all websites the same, FB, Twitter you name it, all the same. Easy media player performs quite well with no interuptions at all even when using other programs in the background.
I've had a look at plugins for F/Fox but there is only a small list to try & disable. I am currently trying to disable one at a time to see if there is any change.

Can someone suggest how I might be able to cure this problem please?

Use another Browser. Chrome does video better.

Your are still using XP? ADOBE Flash is used on many sites to stream video. The current version of Flash badly  sucks on Windows XP.

You may want to try an older version of Flash.

I have recently bought a new headset (Plantronics Gamecom 780 headset), and it asked me to INSTALL the drivers for them. While I was installing them, the error message kept popping up saying "The system has not been modified. To install this program at a later TIME, run the INSTALLATION again. Your system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, please run the set up again. Plantronics website link" This happened maybe over 20 times. I decided to update my windows and NVIDIA but it kept failing, I quickly restarted my computer and I noticed that my resolution went into 1600 x 1200 and not the normal 1920x1080. I tried to open the NVIDIA Control PANEL but it would not open. Like the Icon for the application is there, but it will not open. I tried turning on some of my games in Steam , such as, Counter - Strike : Global Offensive, and Dishonored. I still cannot install/update windows 8.1 things and drivers overall. I have tried almost everything that seems to be right with my problem and it seems to always fail no matter what I have tried. This is quite a big problem because I do play games competitively and to do so I need a functioning computer!

If you guys want me to post my specs and stuff let me know!!

Are you sure your laptop has 2 hdds or is it a single hdd that is partitioned into 2?  Very few laptops have 2 physical drives but some do so just want to make sure.

What exactly do you mean when you say that one drive appears to be broken?  Are you able to access it at all?  If it's not accessible then it may not be possible to GET the data from it.  Depending on why it's not accessible, it may be possible to attach the drive to another computer and copy the data from it. My laptop has been running very slow lately and I was advised to RUN DIFFERENT checks and based on crystaldisk info I was advised to replace the disk. I was just wondering if I move all the files from one drive to another (in My Computer there is a drive C and a drive A; so to move everything from C to A) would solve the problem. The drive C is accessible; it is just slow and I got 'crystaldiskinfo caution; reallocated sectors count' message after running that crystaldisk on it.

You could look at Disk Management to see whether you have 2 disks or only 1.  What OS are you running?If he ran CrystalDisk the info is there as well...OP - Can you post a screenshot from either Disk Management or CrystalDisk?

This computer is only a few MONTHS old, worked fine up till about a week ago.  Nothing new has been INSTALLED.  i went to the dell support page and typed in my service tag and updated sound driver and video drivers.  still no sound unless i disable the sound card and then enable it again.If only a few months old it may have a defect. Normally parts should last for years and not change in a few months.
Still, to eliminate a possible software issue, use the system restore to go back to a earlier time. Try two days back, then four days and so on until you find the CRITICAL point where something was changed.
IMO you must report this to Dell as soon as possible.i ALREADY went back a month on system restore, no change.Sounds like a hardware issue. Dell would probably suggest first to perform a system restoration to factory default. If this then failed to fix the issue, then I would contact Dell to exercise the warranty replacement of the system as for it sounds like a hardware issue possibly. I had a Foxconn motherboard that has its integrated sound start to act up like this and then one day the sound was gone for GOOD. According to device manager it showed it as being ok, but it was dead. I ended up adding a USB Audio adapter for $12 because motherboard was no longer covered by warranty.

My external HDD has ALWAYS been connected to the pc as a drive, but now when I open the drive, I see this shortcut icon of the HDD.
Only after I open this shortcut that I get to VIEW my files in the drive. Its really inconvenient because when I try to save files in that HDD now, SOMEHOW the shortcut icon and my files don't appear.
Can ANYONE help?

It is not clear what you want to do.
For a desktop PC running Windows XP, the BIOS should be set to allow XP to read the drive as if it were an older drive type. I want the registry of XP to recognize the IDE as an SATA which is possible. It was possible to 'load'
the SATA drivers during set-up, but I didn't know that at the time. Hence, my reference to 'floppy files'.
I've done like 50 searches and they take me in 100 different directions or just give help to Intel motherboards.
Mine is an AMD chipset, which provided SATA drivers for XP x86. That doesn't help because they were to be
used when installing XP. According to websearches, it can be done AFTER the install. They just aren't clear
or the solution doesn't help me or sends me off to search what they are even talking about.

P.S. My OSes are Acronis installed from years ago.There are lots of articles on the subject.
Did your motherboard come with the drivers?
If you have the drivers on a floppy disc, there is a way to install without USING the floppy.

I have a TOSHIBA laptop which I plug a Dell monitor into via the HDMI port. All was working fine until recently when the monitor suddenly went into power save mode. Seems my laptop isn't SENDING any msg to monitor. I've tested both monitor and HDMI port and both work fine with other DEVICES. Does anyone know when MICROSOFT will be coming up with a fix for their recent Update KB 3033929 that causes computers to keep rebooting?  I tried putting MINE into SLEEP MODE manually and it rebooted from there.  If it goes into SLEEP MODE automatically after a certain amount of time, it doesn't reboot.  Thank you, They have yet to announce anything...Just checked the TechNet site this morning.

I started using android studio and to use the emulator i have to enable Virtualization in BIOS. But my BIOS doesnt have this option !
My CPU is VT -x ( intel core i7 4710MQ) so it should have this option .

My computer is connected to 2 audio sources only, HDMI to my TV and a USB that goes to my headset. So I have 2 audio programs, 1 which is the default windows one with the megaphone picture, the other one is HP beats audio. The default one doesn't work when on TV. HP audio beats always works even with TV so I use that to change audio devices if NEED be. So I thought this problem is no big deal if I just improvise. Everytime I change from my TV to my headset, the right click options that don't work suddenly pop up and start working(doesn't always work though), which is annoying because if I'm busy doing something it will minimize whatever I'm doing on the computer.

I really need to know how to fix this problem, because I looked at google for answers and reinstalling my audio driver doesn't really seem to work nor do I know how. I can't even go on "manage audio devices" on the control panel because most of the time it doesn't open up. I'm also thinking this could be more than a sound issue because between switching sound devices I get some latency problems like mouse lag and type lag which is very noticeable. I wouldn't put it past me if I had a USB hub problem.thehandyman,

It's an HP h8-1022. It's heavily modded though. I recently got a motherboard change to install a GTX 960. Couple of years old. I don't know what brand the motherboard is since it doesn't specify in DXDIAG, just says system manufacturer and system product name.
Other problem is skype will freeze when I try to log-in. Keep getting white screen.Each motherboard has chip set drivers that are specific to that motherboard.
You replaced the motherboard, so the original HP DRIVES would not work. There should have been a CD with proper drivers for the motherboard.

Can you find  The FCC ID number on the board?

Hey there I am a complete COMPUTER noob, i don't know what hardware or software is or anything. Not even sure im posting in the right thread. Here is my problem, I bought this computer a few months ago off dino PC, it cost me a grand and said it had a stupid amount of SPACE on it, hence why i bought it. I used to have a crappy old 300 quid laptop that allowed me to have well over 30 steam games downloaded, as well as World of Warcraft, League of Legends, and some other mmo's. Whilst i do have wow downloaded, i have like 3 small steam games downloaded and it tells me i cant download anymore because i have low disc space. When i click on my computer to see whats going on (I have windows 8, dunno if that makes a difference) it says Local disc(C:) has 0 bytes free of 111GB. Next to that is DVD drive (D:) Audio cd. and next to that is new volume (E:) which has 898GB free of 931GB. Why wont stuff download onto that 1  . Need help please can you try to help me as though u were guiding a child, i dont understand computer mumbo jumbo. Thanks in advance for any help.Not sure why you have your hard drive split to C and E unless you have a SSD as C: and E: is a 1TB drive.

What you can do is uninstall the games from C: then reinstall them to E:. This is done by during the installation of World of Warcraft and Steam CLIENT changing the path from C:\ to E:\ so such as world of warcraft usually defaults to C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\ you can simply change it to be E:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\ or you can even shorten it to E:\wow\ like I do for my wow installations. Steam client is the same thing. If you read the info as your installing Steam Client it will show a path which can be altered to E:\Steam\ if you like.

Then all you have to do with steam is logon to your steam account and tell it which games to install and they will go to E:\
to whatever folder path you want.

I have had to do this custom install of games and steam client for systems I have with a SSD and HDD combination where the SSD being much smaller than the HDD but best performing is the C: drive and the default install for 99.9% of the software out there is C: and you have to specify to tell it to install to the HDD at say letter E:\ if thats the drive location with D: as the optical drive etc.

A more complex way to do this but not have to redownload all the games would be to copy the games from the C: drive to the E: drive. Then install WoW and the Steam Client to E: drive. And then move the games from one location on the E: drive to the specified install location on the E: drive for the game clients and overwrite the partial client info that is at the wow location assuming wow is installed by first installing the battlenet launcher app. You can then launch wow or steam and wow will run without requiring a 27GB download etc and steam games should be detected in the library as installed.

Easiest method is to uninstall all games and clients that you want off of the C: drive and reinstall it all fresh to custom install location of E: drive.ok my bf seemed to understand what ur saying, thanks for ur help

Recently I FOUND out about DriverAgent and used it to see if my drivers were up to date. The program told me that I need several driver updates.
One of these is my graphic card driver. I wanted to go easy with this and click the arrow in the program but got requested for payment. I did not pay and uninstalled anything involved with DriverAgent.
Now I still wonder if I need to update my driver.
So I checked the manufacturer and it says it is up to date.
I am so confused right now, what should I do?
Plus do I need other driver updates?

Hi Friends,

From some days i am facing problem with Video controller (VGA).IT is Intel R 82945G express chip set family.

In Device MANAGER it is showing with yellow triangle and exclamation MARK, stating something wrong with it. I tried to repair, update, reinstall and also uninstall it, but its not HAPPENING. At last now i wanted to format my XP with new version, post which i think i will get rid from this error,  but i am not able to format my PC (probably) because of it. In device manager it is showing Code 1 error.

I believe if i can uninstall it then i can format my PC. i have tried to uninstall it in safe mode, even downloaded some driver  uninstaller also but nothing is working out.  Please help me if any one can.

Doing a format and new install should be the last sort.
Try to boot in Safe mode.
Try the check disk option.
First, START the command line thing:

Here is why I say this. Hard Drive errors cause more problems that anything else. It is not likely that the VGA card somehow lost its driver.
You can remove the driver and Windows will use a generic drive that swill do the basic things you need.

What printer do you have? Some all-in-one printers require install of up to three devices to be complete.
You need to re-install the MBoard chipset drivers for that PC...they will be on the Driver CD that shipped with the PC.

I just built a computer on an asrock z77 extreme 4 motherboard.  I successfully installed windows7 but have an exclamation point in device manager.
I was able to extract and install XfastLAN but I still have no connectivity, and thus an exclamation point for ethernet controller.

I went right to the asrock site below and grabbed everything I could and put it on a flash drive:

maybe I am not installing the driver properly.  I basically just copied the file on the DESKTOP, extracted it there, and installed the exe (it said it was 'installed correctly'), then rebooted (which was my choice).  I now have an icon in the notification area.
it doesn't seem like this is the driver at all.  asrock gives no documentation on their site that I can see.

You need both the ethernet and WLAN 1's re-installed...yep.  and it looks like I just found it after some intense searching.
I had device manager search for the drivers on the cd, but I realize it was naive to think that device manager would find and install the drivers off the cd.

there was a choice of broadcom and realtek and under realtek
there were four drivers.  vista, xp, windows 7 and windows 8, so I had to find the one for windows 7.
I will let you know when I finally get a connection.It's never a good idea to let Windows find drivers for you...go straight to the MBoard manuf. site...yep.  I was just 'being naive'.

bad news.  the drivers didn't work.  still no connection.  it's being stubborn.
I installed the lan and the wlan and rebooted.  it looked very promising, but no go.Did it ever work ? ?...how are you connected ? ?if ethernet have you tried a different cable ? ?...did you try re-starting the router and waiting 1 minute ? ?

Also i just thought ...have you gone into Control PANEL and setup the Network ? ?
It's not done automatically...I just tried swapping the cables between computers.  they're fine.

I got a message that I ignored before because I didn't think it was relevant, but maybe I was wrong.  when I repair installed the lan driver it said (again):

'the realtek network controller was not found.  if deep sleep mode is enabled please plug the cable'. 
I have never heard of deep sleep mode, so I don't know if it is enabled or where to find out if it is.
anyway.  you might know a little about this because I sure don't.I actually found some information about that error message 'deep sleep mode'.
I guess stored information blocks the network controller in some way.

the fix is to shut the POWER down for ten minutes.Interesting....leave it to RealTek to come up with something brilliant as this... it could be just me.  it's probably right under my nose and I don't see it.I am going to have to leave until tomorrow.  I will return.
I still have the exclamation point in device manager, so until that is gone, I think the problem will remain.

the machine has Vista ultimate 64 BIT edition on it and I can only find a driver for XP or vista 32 bit.I should say I just upgraded from xp and was using an Ethernet card to connect to web

Finaly got the computer built over the weekend. Now I just NEED to install all the drivers, right?

Windows 7 has been installed. But I have not done any of the updates. I did an update search and it looks like there is something like 180 updates? Wow. But that makes sense considering how old it is.

Is there any ideal or specific order to install all the updated drivers?

Here is the sequence that I thought / safest way that MADE sense to me. Please correct me.

1. Update all windows 7 180+ updates
2. Install K.P. anti virus software and all updates
3. Update all MOBO ( Gigabyte Z97X gaming 3 drivers ). After indows was installed I was not able to get any internet connect. So I installed the install CD that came with my MOBO. Then I had a connection to the internet. I assume there are updates though for this MOBO.
4. MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G: Install updated drivers? Do I just go to the website for the updated drivers? I think this came with a CD? If yes it did would it be better off to install the CD then update drivers? Or would I be better just going to the website and install everything from there?

Is that all?
Are there updates or anything I need to do to the following?
1. LG optical BLu-Ray drive
2. Rosewill card reader
3. Kingwin FPX-003 fan controller?

And when getting all these updated drivers. Is it best to install directly from the internet onto this computer? Or is there any advantage to using my other computer and installing on a flash reader then installing on this new computer?

Oh yeah.... I swapped my OEM HDD to a Samsung 850 pro SSD uin my TOSHIBA laptop. WOW! Only takes 7 seconds to have computer up and running. And 3 seconds to shutdown! I just wonder if my MOBO or CPU is bottle necking the full potential of my SSD. This was a $250 best buy special laptop.

Yes...MBoard chipset drivers 1st...then re-boot then all others...

For now use all the Driver CD's that you have...then A/V as Allan suggested.

After all is up and running you can check for updates...

What do you mean by "can't find any device"?  Are you saying that when you are trying to pair with a Bluetooth device that is in discovery mode and you tell your laptop to search, it doesn't find Bluetooth devices to pair with?Looks like that pic is from a phone CONNECTION...that doesn't neccessarily mean the laptop has wi-fi...

More info...tell what infos u need bc im not pro on this areaModel # and make of the PC...Doesn't have BlueTooth from a quick search it seems...Patio, that is what I found. Thant model is not advertised as having Bluetooth.
Although Bluetooth is similar to Wi-Fi i, it don't mean any  computers with  WI-Fi also. have BT.  I saw this his confusion on another forum.

Quick solution: Get a cheap USB Bluetooth thing.  Often under $15 online.

 About HALF of the SMALL computers made by HP do not have BT nor can they do BT with the built-in hardware.

I am not trying to install any new hardware, not trying to install software.  Why am I GETTING this message ?

I think I may have chosen the "continue" option once sometime ago and was then plagued with 45 or more TROJANS every day which I managed to clear eventually with daily scans with MalwareBytes, CCleaner and SUPERANTISPYWARE.

Why does my system think I am trying to install hardware ?

As a side note though, AVG Free still occasionally finds Trojans which Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware do not find.  Is is possible that AVG is finding false positives ?  Anyone come across this before ?

DISCLAIMER: This post is about a Macbook! But its a driver related issue. Therefore im asking here.
Im using a white 2007 Macbook, running a Core 2 Duo T7500, 2.2Ghz, 4mb Cache, 4gb of Ram, and a 240Gb Kingston SSD.
its running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and now windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

I installed windows a few nights ago installed all the drivers given by apple, updated it, ACTIVATED it installed a Ninite installer with all the plugins, office etc.

Here is my issue: I use a Microsoft bluetooth mouse 5000 which I love but i cant get it working on this system because the bluetooth driver refuses to install. Windows instead installs a "Generic Bluetooth Driver" which connects my mouse but gives me an error and wants me to trouble shoot. When i TRY to manually install the Bluetooth driver, the install tells me its not needed. Yet that is incorrect. So i want to know how to trick this windows 7 install to get the flipping correct driver in.

I also thought maybe i could find the driver from the actual manufacturer but i have no idea what it is. Ive tried looking in the device MANAGER to get the VEN ID to check PCIDATABASE.COM but it does not display the correct information. Ive tried speccy, and everest home but still cant figure it out. I need this driver badly.
I read that i could use a driver from acers page but again i have no idea what kinda of bluetooth controller my macbook is using?

I recently installed a fresh install of windows 8.1 on my macbook and every time i access the secondary macintosh partition (OSX partition) the system crashes. I've googled the issue and many reported this issue when windows first was released and suggest to update windows. When i go to control panel to update setting and update, it SAYS there are 40 updates lined up and ready to go. When i click install updates the system will say downloading but it never starts the download of the updates.

You may install by parallel windows into your macbook.
The program's name is VMware. You should download the latest version, then try to reset up windows 8 again into you Macbook. I tried this before. It worked very well.

Make sure your RAM at least 4GB, hard drive at least 500GB and intel at least corei3

Best.I said i installed in via Bootcamp. Meaning i installed it side by side. I appreciate you trying to help, but it seems you arnt seeing my issue and you are completely missing the point.

My macbook is a white plastic one from 2007. It has a T7500 Core 2 Duo running at 2.2Ghz with a 4mb L2 Cache. It has 4 GB of Ram and a 240GB Kingston solid state. I really dont know why you listed off specifications that are not the min requirements for windows. My other IBM system has a Much slower CPU an intel C2D 4300 2mb cache and it flies with windows 7. And thats slower then the CURRENT Pentium series CPU. Im also running 2Gb of Ram. So where you got these preffered specs i have no idea.

I dont want a to use Vmware because i want to dual boot, i do not wish to use a Virtual machine as it sucks my battery life out and i need full performance in windows.

AGAIN. I appreciate the help, but you havent helped you just posted me to do it a different way, a way i dont want to proceed with.

[attachment deleted by admin to conserve space]When you INSTALL a retail version of Windows, you must supply the OM drivers for the motherboard if Windows 7 does not have the drivers in its database.
The drivers are NORMALLY PROVIDED by the motherboard manufacture on a CD in the box with the motherboard.
If you have lost the CD, look  the the web site of the company that made the motherboard and find the chip set drivers. It is not enough to GET only the audio drivers, you should install the whole set.

So, I bought to music albums, new and original and when I PLAY them in my Samsung sh-222ab driver they are being played in chopped parts like, sound skips every second.. at first I thought it's the cd's problem, but both work on other computers/car
which says the driver is problematic, nope, every other cd I own works perfectly fine..
I update the firmware, still doesn't solve the problem..
anyone help ?!  Do you have a spare CD or DVD ROM to test on this same computer to SEE if its the drive or a system config issue?

It COULD be anything from a troubled optical drive, cpu too weak to multitask audio play with everything else going on, driver issue, or memory issue with the system.Hey THANKS for the quick comment

I'm not quite sure about the other stuff you mentioned (realy not a computer genius), it's drives me insane the fact that other cd's work just fine, but these don't.. I mean, are these maybe different physical types of cd's ? I donnu
can you maybe post a few solutions to the problems you mentioned above so I can try'em out ?

I am completely and utterly clueless on where to begin with this. To start, I have confirmed that the laptop is the issue. All the devices that have failed work perfectly fine on anything else. The wireless recievers for my logitech stuff seems to work just fine. I am STARTING to suspect that it's pretty much anything where the drivers come from my laptop.

This is the response to my other USB devices:

-My logitech G19 wired keyboard connects and disconnects and reconnects. I'd get about 5 seconds of being ABLE to type, and suddenly it would fail again. The small screen on the G19 either displays the logo, displays NOTHING, or for a brief moment displays what it should display. Meanwhile, the logitech program in charge of the keyboard stops responding because of the constant disconnect and reconnects. (The program works just fine with the headphones, the mouse, and the other logitech wireless keyboard I have)

-One of my flash drives just doesn't get picked up at all, or if it does, it just shows the generic "removable disc" icon, but it never loads. The other one is a BOOTABLE flashdrive that shows up SEE through. When I click into it, it says there's nothing there. If I try to repair it, it says it can't be accessed.

Any help at all on where I can even begin to try and resolve this would be extremely welcome. I hope this is in the right thread, but I don't know where else I could put it. I'm guessing it's a driver issue?

Install chipset driver 1st...re-boot...then all others.

It came with WIN 8.1.  I have a legit copy of 7, and prefer it, but don't see any DRIVERS for 7.  SUGGESTIONS?Need more INFORMATION... what is make of the 700-406 and is there any other info such as letters before or after the 700-406 such as S700-406NX etc to which it would be something like Toshiba S700-406NX?If your computer MANUFACTURER doesn't provide drivers for older OS's then they are telling you the system wasn't intended to run those Operating Systems.

received this error message when installing LIFECAM vx-5000 MICROSOFT webcaqm driver:"set up can not continue because  an unexpected error has occurred http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953691. Followed all the instructions with no result.

With the help of a utility from Ashampoo software I downloaded a very large number of new Drivers for my old WXP which I had not used for four years DUE to illness.  They are now sitting in a Temporary folder, each with obscure numerical names which give no clue what they are for.  Do they get used automatically, or do I have to install them individually to each program / device or whatever.  If so how do I do this?  There are about 50 in total so it could be a major job!  I now have a W8.1 Tablet but I went to keep the XP going aswell, for a few more years.

Advice, PLEASE?

What is the make and model of your computer?Is there a problem with the computer that you are trying to fix?

If the computer is working fine for you as is I wouldn't bother with installing new drivers.Thanks for the comments.  I do have a current Driver problem with my new Windows 8.1 Tablet which is a Quantum View !0.1, only released in August last year.  I have acquired a slim external USB CD/DVD Drive so I can access my archive of Discs.  Unfortunately, it does not work.

The TroubleShooter says it is a problem with the Driver but it also says it is the BEST most up to date Driver available.  It also says 'the Driver could not be loaded because a previous version is still in memory (Code 38)'.  The Drive is a MatshitauJ-840D.  It is DETECTED and shows up in Device Manager where it responds to clicking by revealing the Properties Box, etc.

The light comes on but the tray does not open when the button is pressed so I have  not been able to try a disc in it. In the list of Devices it is shown as 'having a problem'.

I have consulted MS Help Desk (not much help there) and am just starting to discuss the issue with the supplier.  I can get a refund but I would much rather have the device working.

Any advice?

Re-boot after install...

I have a Dell Latitude D630, a few minutes after I start up the laptop and sometimes even later on, the computer just crashes. This all began after a year or two of use for the first time yesterday while I was gaming. I suspect that the ISSUE is from the graphics drive considering the fact that the screen will just flicker then crash. Sometimes when I restart after a crash, the SCREE splits and turns a slight green color with lines everywhere. I have to restart a few times to get it back to normal. This issue is becoming a nuisance as I never really know when it is going to act up and shut down.

I updated the driver to what I know with my limited knowledge, yet it seems to not have helped the issue.

The driver is a Nvidia Quadro NVS 135 M 341.21This may be a bit late, but this is classic INDICATION of overheating, for both CPU's (processor) and GPU's (graphics processor). Do you regularly clean out your laptop with a can of compressed air? If not, you may want to invest in some. When cleaning, be careful not to let the cooling fans spin too aggressively, as this may strain the fan bearings and ruin the cooling fan itself (this usually isn't too much an issue with laptops as the heat sink [metal fins] is generally more exposed than are cooling fans).

Being that you game on this MACHINE, it is best to AVOID letting the laptop sit on fabric (such as carpeting, clothing, etc.) as this will hinder the cooling systems ability to move air and hence cool your laptop. If you do not have a convenient flat surface, such as a dining tray, to sit your laptop upon, several outlets sell cooling pads for laptops, some even come with their own cooling fans to increase heat dissipation.

I look forward to hearing if this resolved your problem.

Hi Sir/Mam I have a problem.. when I put my External Hard disk on my Laptop It didn't show up just the icon below but it didn't show up on My COMPUTER that's why I can't OPEN.. I already do the process click the manage on the computer and go to computer management but i can't see on it my External Hard disk.. What should I do? Please help me.. I NEED the all files on it .. it's important to me  Go to Disk management...does it show there ? ?
If so RITE clik it and select Properties and report here everything it says...I already did it sir but my External Hard disk didn't show  I will send you a picture..
