Answer» My DVD was working perfectly fine and now when I put in either a blank CD or one with data it shuts down my computer and re-starts it in SAFE mode asking me if I want to return to windows or start with the last good configuration. I have followed the trouble shoot steps and nothing WORKS. My device manager SAYS the device is working properly. Can someone help me with this? Thankssboyter......I would physically disconnect your problematic DVD......by removing the IDE cables and power supply to it and then reboot your PC ......make sure theres no sign of it ....If you have another cd player in your pc ..just make sure it works ok .....then if it does .......shut down .....reconnect the IDE cable and power supply ......reboot and LET windows reinstall the new hard ware . Let us know dl65 Thank you. Actually I removed the registry entry and re-started the computer. This seemed to fix the problem!
