Solve for x and y:2x + 3y + 1 = 0,(7 – 4x) /3 = y

2x + 3y + 1 = 0 ……..(1)

(7 – 4x) /3 = y ……….(2)

Put value of y in (1), we get

2x + 3((7 – 4x) /3 ) + 1 = 0

2x + 7 – 4x + 1 = 0

x = 4

from (2):

(7 – 4(4)) /3 = y

y = -3

Answer: x = 4 and y = -3
