Answer»

i have a bec modem and a lynksis router, when i type in my default gateway ADDRESS it goes to the bec page but i need to go to the lynksis page.Do you go to http://192.168.1.1?i tried it goes to a search pagebut the link doesnt go to anything. says it can not be displayedWhat browser? Did you try another one?
Any other problems with this machine?its not my computer so i dont think so. and its in ie. on firefox that comes up as connection timed outDownload HostsXpert (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Hoster_d4626.html) and then follow the steps below:

* Unzip HostsXpert.zip
* It will create a folder named HostsXpert in whatever folder you extract it to.
* Run HostsXpert.exe by double clicking on it.
* click the Make Writeable? button.
* click Restore Microsoft's Hosts File and then click OK.
* Click the X to EXIT the program

Then, try again.nope. still not workin. if my step dad wasnt a jerk lol. his brother helped us do it in like 2 minutes last time but he says he wont call him. grrrr.Does it happen only with this specific address?i dont know. i know we fixed it last time on this computer. we went to cmd and did ipconfig and IM not sure what number he did because ive tried all of them and i did ipconfig/all also and i cant get back to the linksys page.Turn off computer. Disconnect router, and modem from power source for 30 seconds.
Power them back on.
Restart computer.

If that doesn't work, bypass router, and connect computer straight to the modem.

If that doesn't work...
Go Start>Run, type in:
cmd
Click OK.

In Command Prompt window, type in following commands, and hit Enter after each one:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

Restart computer.

If that doesn't work...
Go Start>Run, type in:
cmd
Click OK.

At Command Prompt, type in:
netsh int ip reset reset.log
Hit Enter.
Type in:
netsh winsock reset catalog
Hit Enter.

Restart computer.

If that doesn't work...
Download, install, and run LSP-Fix: http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
Restart computer, and see, if it helped.
If not...
Download, install, and run WinSockFix: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Network-Tweak/WinSockFix.shtml
Restart computer, and check again.i have done all of those except the last two but i just got a new PSP after i broke my old one, and i tried to connect it to the internet and it will find my linksys when i search and get about 60-100% and when i try to connect to it it will say it can not connect and maybe the signal is weak. it seems like thats similar to the problem i was having before. the reason why i need to get to the linksys setup page is to connect my wii. the wii will also find the linksys and when i test connection it says it failed. is there something else i can do? thought maybe i would explain my problem a little better. i know the last time the wii had this problem (like last week), we enabled something on the dhcp menu or something like that.Maybe you should call ISP to check the line stability?ehhh i guess we will have to. lol. when u buy a service u should have it working and have to put no effort in to it lol. stupid crap. That's true...
