Answer» I am looking to buy a new router (believe it or not I still have Wireless-B, SAD I know). I have been looking for a while now and researching them and am trying to figure out what type of router to GO with. I am looking for the fastest internet and gaming speeds I can get for a HOME network. I am confused on whether I should get a gigabit router and would benefit from it. What are the benefits of a gigabit router? Is it helpful for gaming and faster internet SURFING speeds? Any help would be appreciated as I am hoping to buy as soon as possible.Why is it sad that you have a wireless B router? It's sad because the speed is dismal and the router must be reset CONSTANTLY. A gigabit router is good if you want to be able to transfer files as quickly as possible between computer on your home network. Unless you happen to have a gigabit internet connection, it isn't going to do anything for your online connection speed.
