Solve : Hack my own router??

Answer»

Well I have a Netgear WGT624 I found in my basement and it's better then that one I have now. But I NEED a password and I can't get in, so is there some way to get through that?

I have all the stuff from when I bought it (the warranty dose no longer APPLY)I'm not sure there is a way around it.

Have you checked to see if the password is on the router itself?
Are there any reset buttons on it?

If not, try contacting Netgear. It's possible that the default password has never been changed.

Try these:

For the user name type: admin

For the password type: draadloosNo password might even work.I was GOING to suggest that as well...      I actually got the other password from the Netgear website.. Quote from: Frejoh466 on August 09, 2009, 12:15:05 AM

normally resetting the router will return it to default settings(including password)...check
manual on netgear website...I have a LINKSYS router and a Trendnet router. Both have areset button that RESETS all settings to factory default, including the password. I think Netgear router would not be different.NO!     Don't reset to factory ..........try the more complicated methods first!  Quote from: Frejoh466 on August 09, 2009, 12:15:05 AM

It should say in the manual what the default password is.  Beyond that we can't help you break a password for obvious reasons.
