Answer» hi friends,
I have had been a lot through number of stuffs available on different sites related to ASYNCHRONOUS transfer MODE and get understood what is it though.
but i didn't find anywhere any stuff which explain it with an example. i mean i want to know where actually it is used in real life that i can make it clear in my mind.
suppose i have an internet connection, now at which stages these technologies are used? ISDN, Asynchronous TransferISDN is hardly even used anymore. Some small businesses may still use it, but they're better off with cable/DSL.
ISDN is faster than dial-up, but slower (and more expensive) than cable/DSL.
If I recall correctly (someone CORRECT me if I'm wrong), ATM can be used on WAN backbones. COMPANIES that have more than one office and Internet SERVICE providers uses this.
