Oh no, DO NOT PUT GLUE ON YOUR COOLING FAN!!! There is a substance designed to get into the tiny bumps on the surface of the fan base called thermal paste. You can get some from any major computer store PRETTY cheaply or from here: ClickQuote from: Animefan on July 17, 2009, 03:19:55 AM I'm using core 2 duo atm, and i want to change it to core 2 quad.Just curious, what model core 2 duo do you have and what core 2 quad are you installing? Quote what model core 2 duo do you have and what core 2 quad are you installing? the 1 i'm using is Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6850 3 ghz, but about the core 2 quad, i have no idea what model it is, i got it from my friend cause he is changing to i7, i only got the warranty and installation instructions and intel logo label from him, and he got no idea what model it is. Is it important? Quote I don't think you need to reformat your computer when installing a new processor. about this, can anyone confirm it? cause this is the 1st time i change the processor myself so i need to make sure nothing goes wrong. If you really want to make sure that nothing will go wrong, follow patio's instructions, but please remember, be careful. Also remember to ground yourself before touching anything inside.thanks patio and manadude2. Maybe i should bring it to the shop lol .....That would be a good idea if you don't mind paying out to get someone to do it for you. It would also be the safest thing to do.You don't have to reformat the hard drive for a cpu upgrade. Check your list of supported CPUs for the CHIPSET. ty neelchauhan |
