I am trying to shut down my firewall(s) on my pc so that I can connect to my network through port 8080 on my psp. I have shutdown my mcafee firewall and I have placed port 8080 in the exceptions. and it still doesn't work?all you have mentioned are your PC's firewalls.  Is there not a Router of some TYPE involed here in your setup that your PSP is hooked up to?  Give me a bigger picture of what's hooked up to what?1.  PSP...  Is that PlayStation Portable?  As in the following:

2.  How about a Model Number and maybe date of manufacture as its capabilities continue to evolve.


3.  So...  Are you trying to connect to your local network via a wireless connection?  Is this a wireless ad-hoc or infrastructure network connection?

I believe the wikipedia ARTICLE I referenced says PSP uses 801.11b wireless standard?  Does your desktop wireless NIC, wireless ACCESS point, or wireless router support 801.11b?

If you're encrypting your wireless COMMUNICATIONS, are you using WEP or WPA?  On both your PSP and wireless access point (whatever you're connecting to)?

Why port 8080?  Standard default port for web access using HTTP protocol is port 80. Quote
