Solve : help with network Printer?

Answer»

We currently connected a new computer to our home network. When i try to install the Network Printer on the new computer it keeps asking me for a Username and Password. I dont remember ever setting one up, is there a way to Bypass this?

Any HELP would be appreciated.Where exactly does it say this?

What Operating SYSTEM?It says this on the new computer. I GO to printer setup I get to the network printer and click on it to setup and it asks for Username and password. USING Windows 2000.A new computer using Windows 2000?The computer that has the Printer setup on it is Windows 2000. The new computer is Windows XP.I'm not sure here but any ideas what this password is for? (is there a title to it?)The title for the Username and Password is the name of our network. I dont have a clue to what they are, i dont remember ever setting one up. How do i get around this?I don't think it's possible to bypass it, I'm afraid.Perhaps try ad look on the bottom of the router. A lot of times routers come with a pre-setup username and password. Mine is located on the bottom of my router. OR if you STILL have the packaging from the router, its possible its in there or maybe you had written it down Quote from: PIERRO on August 18, 2008, 02:40:00 PM

The computer that has the Printer setup on it is Windows 2000. The new computer is Windows XP.
Are any other computers now accessing that printer? If so, what OS are they running?

Do you have that Win 2000 machine setup so that you must log on to Windows to use it?Yes I have 3 other computers accessing that printer. The other Computers run windows 2000. The printer is setup on one of those computers. The win 2000 machines do not require log in information to use them.
