First of all, I am trying to LEARN more about computers, I am not that computer savvy so... I am not having any problems with my Wireless Connection, but whenever I try to connect through cable my home network keeps resseting everytime I start my computer and then I am having problems with my broadband connection because it sometimes does not recognize my username and password. I have a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.
I do not know what other information I can provide, but I will gladly try to answer more if necessary. Thank you in advance !How long have you had this problem? Who is your local service provider? Is you service a over a telephone line using DSL? Have you contacted your local provider?
Myself, I have found most of the problems to be with the provider, and not my equipment and software. For example, a new DSL connection has to be prepared if the phone lines are very old and poorly maintained. They don't LIKE to do this kind of work. It can take days for a field tech to find a bad splice in the telephone wires.
As for wireless, a number of things nan reset a wireless connection. Including a combo DSL wireless router that WANTS to reset a lot. A bad power supply can do that.
Could also be a faulty router, network card or cable or just need a factory reset, firmware update or as already mentioned by Geek9pm.
Quote but whenever I try to connect through cable my home network keeps resseting everytime I start my computer and then I am having problems with my broadband connection because it sometimes does not recognize my username and password.
Thank you guys for your ASSISTANCE! It only happens when I go to my neighbour and attempt to connect VIA cable. Although sometimes it works, most of the times I just get the user/pass not recognized, and if I get it to work, it just creates new networks everytime I start my laptop.
Well, I guess I will stick to my wireless then
Thank you all !
