Answer» I've been trying to set up a home network for quite some time btwn a iMac OS 10.7.2 (Lion) and HP Pavilion PC OS Windows XP Professional SP3 with no success.
Both are desktop units linked by ethernet CABLE via DLink WBR1310 wireless router.
I would like to be able to share screens, files,printer/scanner. Internet sharing is not a problem as they share a DSL cable modem.
The PC shows up on the Mac but when attempting to connect an error pops up "connection failed." The Mac does not show up on the PC?
There are no other computers on the network.
Can someone offer me, or link me to, easy, step by step INSTRUCTIONS on how to do this?
I consider myself fairly knowledgeable, but networking is foreign to me.
