Solve : Home Wireless Networking Issues? |
|
Answer» Currently, I'm EXPERIENCING a wireless issue that is confounding me. My home has a DSL connection using a Verizon Westall Versalink 327W router, and a Linksys WRE54G Range Expander boosting the signal for the second floor, with the signal itself using 64bit WEP encryption. A desktop on the second floor, using a Belkin G Wireless Network ADAPTER, is able to pick-up the signal and access the internet just fine; however, I can not figure out how to get my laptop internet access, whether right by the main router or upstairs using the boosted signal. I am able to get it to where it believes it is connected to the network and is sending information, but it is not receiving any information back. Though not overly intimate with specifications, I have tried adjusting IP addresses and such for the laptop and running various connection software, all to the same result. The laptop is getting a bit old and not running as smoothly anymore, but PRIOR til now had not had any issue connecting to wireless networks. While this probably is a bit vague to get an immediate solution, could someone suggest a course of action to figure out why the laptop is failing to communicate properly with the network?Could you provide more information REGARDING the operating system and type of equipment you are using for the laptop. |
