Solve : Hooking up my Epson XP200 printer to the network with a Chromebook? |
|
Answer» So, the short version is that I'm trying to hook up my printer to my Acer Chromebook 15. Chromebooks are apparently notorious for being a bit crap with printing - and I'm pretty USELESS with technology anyway. Printing with the Acer Chromebook. Chromebooks do not support printing from local printers via USB port. To print from your Chromebooks, you need to connect to the Google Cloud Print service and share a printer: Download and install Google Chrome to the computer where the printer is connected.Yes, it is about the Acer, but the idea would apply to other Chrome book tablets. Also: Quote I have not tried this.[ Also: http://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-print-from-a-chromebook/ How that helps. Thanks Dave, I'm gonna try that right now. Geek, yeah, I've come across that as well, but it doesn't recognize any DEVICES as being available on the system, so there's no "instant change". I appreciate both the responses and I'll keep you updated if I have any luck. Tom Leventhall |
