Solve : how can I configure my internet connection PPTP???? |
|
Answer» Long story short I got a new router from my ISP they said I should be able to plug it in and it would work I tried that and it did not work I bought a Belkin router to increase my signal strength and it seemed to not work either it appear to change the name of my connection and I am currently running on a PPTP connection but for some reason it will not work I was told that I am supposed to connect using my username and password on a PPTP connection for my ISP I do not know what else to do and I cannot figure out how to get this internet to work I can't even get dial up speeds but when I do connect it is very little to none. I assume part of it has something to do with me changing the name of my internet connection I changed it and they said absolutely do not change the name of it because it will make it so I cannot connect but then I changed it back and nothing changed I only changed the name as a last resort and all I did was cap the first LETTER which I guess is enough for it not to connect so sense then I put it back and it STILL WONT connect. Plz help I need to figure out my website hosting and why they are ripping me off plus check email accounts. Thanks! After looking at your post, my gut tells me your are making this too hard. Your ISP should provide you will the service you want. You should not have to buy more equipment. ... to increase my signal strength...What does that mean? Why do you need more signal strength? Using PPP has nothing to do with signal strength. Unless you have DONE this all before, you should let the ISP setup your modem and router for your computer. EDIT: What I want to say is that it is getting harder to get free help for an ISP or anybody else. Except a few places. LIKE this forum. If you bought the router from the nISP, they can set it up by remote control. |
