Sorry for the length but I have been searching for answers for days PLEASE HELP!

My situation: My VERIZON Actiontec router is in the basement, I have horrible wireless signal in my room and in most of the house. I have a computer upstairs that is connected by ethernet to the router(runs through the walls). I want to use that ethernet COMING from the gateway router to put another wireless router online, a Netgear WGR614. When I use the netgear router's wizard it says if I want to this this with a gateway router I have to put it in bridge mode to make it work. How do I do this? The routers have the same Gateway IP address by the way.

So put simply, I want to put a router online with an ethernet cable connected to the main router, and computer. Also any other tips on doing this are appreciated.

I want to do this because I don't get good signal throughout my whole house so I want a second router to connect to. Also I play Unreal Tournament 2004, and a few months ago it ran perfect, then I quit, now I'm back and it lags horribly when I'm connected at my house. When I connect at my friends house it runs perfectly. The only difference is, at my house, the signal strength is good/very good, and at his house it's excellent. So I think that might be part of it. Also I looked up info about my router and some say it's not that good. People also say that instead of netgear I should connect linksys to fix this, my friends house has linksys. (because they are best) If you have another way to fix this it would be appreciated.

There isn't anything wrong with netgear in general. I use one at home. (Actiontec is another story, but you're stuck with them, so let's move on...) The first thing you need to do is change the IP address on the netgear router, follow the manual. As for putting it in Bridge mode, that should also be in the manual. Haha. About the manual for netgear, I have no IDEA where that is. I might have one for actiontec though, does anyone know where to possibly find these online?link to manual page Nothing's WORKING I keep getting limited or no connectivity.
