Solve : How to permanently solve DNS server problem??

Answer»

Hello,

I would like to know how I can 'avoid' the need to change DNS server address when I sometimes open my laptop.

I read a while ago that this happens because my DNS BECOMES corrupted so I would need to assign one manually - or the other way around ( it would be already manually assigned and I would have to set it back to 'automatic') which would give me access to the internet again .

But is there is a way to assign a manual DNS server ( Google's for example) without the need to change it back to 'automatic' in the future. A SORT of permanent solution?

P.S.  I do need to set it to manual because I need access to 'some' websites blocked by my ISP.

Thank you..What ISP do you have that is blocking websites? How do you know they are blocking them?Would an ISP really use that method of "blocking" a website? It would be too easy to bypass. My own ISP in Britain blocks various Torrent indexing sites and it does not matter what DNS server you use, they are still blocked.
So I looked at your profile and realized where you were at. The only way I know for you to be able to bypass those blocks would be to connect to a US server uisng a VPN connection.I believe I was misunderstood ...

I am 'able' to bypass the ISP ( Turkey btw and they are blocking websites like 4shared.com and others...) by simply changing the DNS server settings. The annoying problem(which happens when restarting or turning off the laptop for few hours) is that sometimes I am unable to access the internet unless I change it back to 'automatic'.

Thanks Going back to Chris' comment, Salmon, if you VPN to a US server, can you bypass the Brit-blocks?

Because, again, back to Chris' point, GILGAMESH, if you sign up for a US-based VPN (l like gotrusted, but check the google for "secure vpn services" and choose one you like), your ISP will not know what you're connected to. You'll pay for it, but it will give you what you need. Quote from: rjbinney on October 25, 2013, 07:02:16 AM

Probably. I use TOR which works just as well.

Has anyone really READ my question..  ?? loool...

I have.

But I was not asking 'How' to bypass the block as I confirmed that I am '' able '' to bypass'' in the second post ...my question was entirely different to 'how' to bypass because I already did know how to bypass an ISP block and change DNS address.

Nevertheless, all you guys are talking about was bypassing a Brit block or if I was signed to a US VPN ( which I do not know btw- I live in Turkey-again)......

My question is totally something ELSE....but thanks anyways...
