Answer» I know IP address & domain name of remote computer, How can I access remote computer from my home laptop?you NEED a tunnel i GUESS or something LIKE putty gen you can download it for freeyou need a tunnel i guess or something like putty gen you can download it for free I know IP address & domain name of remote computer, How can I access remote computer from my home laptop? Windows has remote desktop protocol INSTALLED and disabled by default. Assuming it is a computer that you have permission to access, you would need to enable remote desktop and configure your router/firewall to pass through requests to make the connection. Thanks michaewlewis.. But please explain me little in detail where are the option availabe..if possible thru snapshot.. I want to access my office server 2003 coz I am not well and I have to do some IMPORTANT task remotely.. (remote desktop protocol) Thank you all... Setting up Windows XP for remote desktop (Should ALSO work for Server 2003): http://www.microsoft.com/windowsXp/using/mobility/getstarted/Remoteintro.mspx Setting up your router for remote desktop: http://helpdeskgeek.com/networking/configure-router-for-remote-desktop/ Both of these tasks need to be performed locally and cannot be done offsite. You will need administrative access to both the server and the router in order to do this. If you do not have administrative access, then you need to talk to whoever does about setting it up.If you know the remote ip address of the server just type it in the url If the server has remote administration enabled in the router/ switch it will allow access obviously once v=credentials are supplied. |
