Hi ive jst been off the phone to my broadband supplier sky and one of the senior advisors asked me to come to this site as he said someone would be able to help me

iv got a 6mb connection but i am not even downloading at 100kb/sec ive no even touched that speed and he said something about getting a program to configure my laptop to recieve and optimum speed.... i want to know where can i download this freeware and which is the best program to RUN
he said it was an executable file that will run on its own and fix all my mtu problems please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Ok 1st things 1st .....

Your download speeds and connection speeds are completely different ... yes there are a few tweaking programs out there to optimize your speed ..... but i ASSURE you it wont make a difference , if sky are telling you you need to find this program ... then there clearly sending you on a wild goose chase ..... because they are not being straight with you ... i have a 10mb connection and i only download at 100kbs maybe 200 sometimes .... you can take a speed test and you could also write of to sky that you are not happy with there services..... i did the same with tiscali and they gave me 4 months for free due to the speeds that where coming through my phone line ...... where not 100% correct.....

Sky should do a better support. Why should we teach you how to change MTU value (it is very-very simple)? Why would they ask you to do that?
What it is written in your contract with them? Those 6 Mbps are granted or are a MAXIMUM? How well works for other sky customers with the same contract? I suppose you are a "home user" and not a company.
I have no idea about the Sky connections - although I admit I could do a "research" on the web about; but why? You could do the same, even better.
