I myself have 2 tenants living in our basement, plus my sister staying with me for school, and our signal has been fine. I use torrents alot and haven't had a complaint yet. HOWEVER, if you're afraid of connectivity degradation, you can block keywords with your routers to prevents excessive downloading. The landlord's attitude about this is unfortunate and unreasonable. Do they expect you to have a second phone line or cable line installed? Would they allow that? I suspect not, so how do they expect you to get Internet access? As hedgehog88 said, sharing an Internet connection should not be a problem. Does the landlord use a router? Perhaps you could offer to pay $10-$15 extra PER month in rent to persuade them to let you share their Internet connection or, if they have no router, offer to buy the router and set it up.Hi Everyone!
