Answer» Hey again guys, My computer is connected to the family computer via a crossover cable. I enable ICS and all is well. BUT....my friend STUFFED AROUND while i was at work, trying to do who knows what. Now when I enable ICS I get "An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled. The specified service does not exist as an installed service." Both comps are running XP Pro SP2. The host comp is connected to an ADSL modem via an ethernet cable (straight through network cable). Ive TRIED uninstalling both network cards and re-installing them, tried bridging the connections.....same message though! have you made sure the ICS is enabled on both computers? have you tried to system restore to an earlier date to fix the problem? unlovedwarriorSmack your friend, then ask him what he did. Good news, it's fixed. I'm typing this on my computer The service "Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing" was somehow deleted. have you made sure the ICS is enabled on both computers? have you tried to system restore to an earlier date to fix the problem?

Actually I don't think I have.
