Answer» So, I have this problem. I want my 360 on the net, but I'm having problems.
First off, I am connected with an ethernet cable, to my LAPTOP (Vista), which is connected to my landowner's router (wireless).
I go to network, go to my wireless network connection, properties, enable sharing. Then I get an ERROR, saying SOMETHING along the LINES of "an error has occurred while ICS is being enabled".
I have also read that I need to make sure a few services are running:
Application Layer Gateway Service Network Connections Network Location Awareness (NLA) PLUG And Play Remote Access Auto Connection Manager Remote Access Connection Manager Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Telephony
However, the Application Layer Gateway Service (ALG.exe), won't stay on. I start the service, and then attempt to enable ICS, I recieve the same error. When I check "services" again, ALG is no longer running. Can anyone please help me?For what it's worth, some people have suggested enabling the "Windows Firewall".
see Joson Zhou, heywhat. and GodSponge responses. You may also want to try using an ethernet cable to plug your laptop directly into the router or modem if you can, at least for testing purposes to see if it works. The Xbox 360 sometimes has difficulty routing through a laptop.
