Answer» Thank you for READING my question.... I have two computers both having windows operating systems. I am planning to cluster them. I have connected them using an RJ-45 ethernet crossover CONNECTOR cable.... I want to make a network with "Computer 2" as the host computer.....
Computer 1 has Windows 7 Ultimate as its operating system.... Computer 2 has Windows Server 2003 as the operating system....
Both computers are connected but do not find a network. It shows that the cable is working and it tries to find an IP, i.e. find a network to connect to, sometimes the state is known as "LIMITED connectivity". This thus shows the fact that it is working. But does not find a network.
I wish to make a network with "Computer 2 as the host computer....I believe you have to statically assign IP addresses to each computer in that type of SETUP.. Use the following tutorial:
http://www.home-network-help.com/crossover.html
To configure Server 2003 use the XP set up instructions... For Windows 7, there is a DIRECT link..
Do you plan on connecting these computers to the Internet ?
