Answer» Hey guys
I have an EI Systems 1201 Laptop with an inbuilt WIRELESS adaptor (Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802.11b/g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network Adapter)
It worked fine until a few months ago when the logo in the TASK bar CHANGED from the normal computer screens with a globe to two computer screens with an exclamation mark.
After this occurred, the computer would freeze until I either reset the adaptor (Which resulted in a BSOD) or TURN off the laptop.
I have updated the drivers but it seems to make no difference.
I now access the internet via a USB network adaptor.
Any ideas here?Sounds like the wireless adaptor has failed or the drivers have become corrupted. First step is to try reinstalling the drivers.I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers.Second step is to try a different wireless adapter.
A few things can interfere with wireless connections, incidentally. DECT cordless phones, baby monitors, audio/video senders, etc.

It has worked fine using this adaptor and since I reinstalled the adaptor, the only trouble I had was actually connecting to my router, but it's sorted now.
I do have a wireless phone, but even when not in use it CRASHED. I only have wireless internet and a wireless phone.Glad you got it sorted. Thanks for reporting back.
