Answer» my other computers internet went down on me for some reason. i have 3 other computers on the same network and all of them still work with the internet. the computers internet just suddenly died so today i messed around with it a little and discovered it lost the default gateway, and the DNS servers. so i put them back on MANUALLY and it said "LOCAL area connection" "status:connected" so i was like cool, internets back up no problem. but, i pull up mozilla firefox and it WONT connect to any site. can anyone help me with this? my network connection details: IP address 169.254.60.197 (i think this might be the problem) Subnet: 255.255.0.0 Gateway 192.168.2.1 DNS server 192.168.2.1fixed it. i used WINSOCK xp fix it worked like a charm ill report if i have any problems Thanks for posting back.
