Solve : Internet connection issue (Network cable unplugged/enabled)? |

Answer» I went through your great virus folks here just to clear up if it was one or not and i was told it all seems clean. So here is the dilemma. What Windows version is it?She's using Vista SP1. And I didn't realize that you said that another computer was tested on the same modem and cable, Hanna. I guess I'll stop blaming them. Heh. That does CONFUSE me a bit, though. I'm unfamiliar with Vista, so I don't know if it could be contributing to the problem or not. What do you think, Broni? You certainly know a heck of a lot more about Vista than I do. I wonder if Vista Firewall might be configured improperly. Also...as your computer starts booting up, repeatedly hit the F8 key to get to the boot menu and select Safe Mode With Networking. Are you still able to connect to the internet? If so, how does it act?Ok So yesterday bought the wireless router, and to configure it I have to PLUG my machine into it via the same loopy port thats been doing this to me...and you know what? It connected fine. absofickenlutley fine. But of course when i tried my isp's cord it still wont connect to it and gives me the same bs. So it has to be my isp's cord they gave me fritzing... but only when plugged into my computer. Yet that same cord plugged into and worked with someone elses who had xp.... I dont know but Im giving them a call monday to tell em. What a headache! Thanks for trying to wrap your brains around this one!No problem, Hanna. If you manage to find out anything from your ISP, be sure to let us know. |
