I have a old dell latitude cpi 300dx & i just wipe clean my hard drive & reinstalled 98se,then i installed me after that.Ii would have installed 2000, but i couldn't find a disk.Anyway,I installed my SMC2532W-B card & I got internet until I shut down the system & restarted,now when I try to get the internet,i get the page cannot be displayed.I went to connections & checked my settings & I also went to dos & put in ipconfig/all.I get DHCP enabled,IP address 169.254.129.162,subnet MASK 255.255.0.0,nothing in default gateway,DHCP server 255.255.255.255,nothing in primary & SECONDARY WINS servers,lease obtained 09 16 11 6:25:22 PM.1 Ethernet adapter:Description PPP adapter,Physical address 44-45-53-54-00-00, DHCP Enabled,Ip address 0.0.0.0,Subnet Mask 0.0.0.0,Default Gateway nothing,DHCP Server 255.255.255.255,nothing else from there.I pinged the 169.254.129.162 & it sent & received 4 packets.I TRIED to go to different web sites & it still won't log on. I fairly new to this & I sure could use some help.I use road/runner internet & a UBEE router,it connects 4 wireless computers,one xbox & one wired.













That IP address indicates that your PC didn't find a DHCP server. Have you installed the correct network drivers?Quote
