I'll be on the internet using firefox when a message will come up from the bottom toolbar SAYING  a network cable is unplugged.  Nothing is unplugged, I even replaced the cable.  The ONLINE and activity lights on the modem go out when this happens.  Then the message disappears a few seconds later.  The modem lights flash back on after sometimes 10 seconds, sometimes SEVERAL minutes, when I can continue using the net.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I'm using XP.Also it's a wired modem, no router.This sounds like a problem with either the modem or your network card. Do all the lights on the modem go out when this happens?
