Solve : Internet down when I installed video card? |

Answer» So my internet was working on my windows xp DESKTOP before my cousin installed a e-Ge-Force Nvidia FX 5200 video card. It happened to his too so it can't be that we messed with something in the computer. I have a linksys wireless-G PCI adapter with speedbooster. It worked perfectly before but not anymore after we installed the video card. When I try to connect to the network it can't find it. It only finds my neighbors. I use DSL.Welcome to CHF! AGP is usually only one slot. IT didn't work we moved it over the farthest possible. I wasted an hour on that!! AHH but can you please find out another solution or something?How far away is the router ? ? You could try re-setting it by unplugging it for a minute or so and plugging it back in...Less than 10 feet LOL It's in my sister's room. MY cousin said his worked when he used the ethernet CABLE but my dad doesnt want to run a cable from my room across the hall into her's. I just don't understand the problem though How could installing a graphics card mess with the internet?Did you try what was suggested ? ? Since there can be a hundred things go wrong with a wireless connection try what is suggested before moving on to new questions...Yea I tried it. IT still doesn't work I also uninstalled the video card DRIVERS but nothing changed.IT WORKED!!! yay it wrked im soo happy I don't know why but suddenly it appreared when the linksys monitor scanned for networks it fround my network |
