Solve : internet sharing?

Answer»

Hi, can anyone help me,im using linksys x2000 router, on first use i automatically create a main network for me an a guest account. now the problem is, when someone in the guest account is logged in, and im playing online game like league of LEGENDS, when then user in the guest account is watching a video on youtube, or accessing a web that loads lots of images, my ping on my game suddenly turns high. and when browsing my browsing speed is too slow when user from the guest account are streaming videos, is there a way that i can play games and browse the internet without being affected by the users from the guest account? Wired connection is always preferred and set a limit of BANDWITH for the guest account if the router has this feature or use a software bandwith limiter. Check the router settings or menus for a Qos feature which is used to improve your connection speed. My Router doesnt have a feature to limit bandwidth, so I used old technology to bottleneck my wifes computer with a 10mbps switch. My bandwidth is 20mbps down and 12mbps up. With the 10mbps old switch in between my Router and my wifes computer, she has no clue that I have her bottlenecked and my QoS doesnt degrade when she is doing her Netflix etc.. So if your device doesnt have a way to throttle bandwidth, and you have an old 10mbps switch or hub to place between your router and your guest... you can set them to a maximum bandwidth that is lesser than your actual maximum bandwidth if your actual bandwidth is greater than 10mbps download. Glad I didnt throw away the old switch that was too slow for my needs. Come to find it it can STILL serve a purpose.. my router has QoS feature tried modifying it but still but putting my laptop to high priority and putting one of my guest users into low priority, but still having issues when we are both connected and the user is streaming videos online.or browsing site with lots of images to load.like facebook. Its been over 2 weeks, but saw that this might still be OPEN if your still checking on it. I am curious as to how much bandwidth you have with your ISP www.speedtest.net

I am thinking that if you are already starving for bandwidth maybe in which QoS wont help much.
