Solve : Internet slow all of a sudden? |

Answer» i Have a dell dimension 2400 with Xp sp3 and my internet got really slow. At my house it used to be ~900 kB/s, but i moved into a college dorm and now my internet is ~35 kB/s. I have a laptop (with Xp sp3) and when i test it it is ~1000 kB/s. this is using the same cable same, same jack, everything. My other friends laptop is just as fast as my laptop.first you delete all temp files. CLICK "hide all microsoft services" , and review the left over services .. the manufacturer ect post any here that you find suspicious.. how old is your desktop? It may have a older Controller that your laptop, if not: try updating your drivers, removing cache files and remove any unwanted background files on your desktop, clear space of hard disk, optimize your registry or get a net controller/adapter.In Command Prompt window, type in following commands, and hit Enter after each one: ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /registerdns ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew Restart computer. If that doesn't work... Go Start>Run, type in: cmd Click OK. At Command Prompt, type in: netsh int ip reset reset.log Hit Enter. Type in: netsh winsock reset catalog Hit Enter. Restart computer. If that doesn't work...
