Answer» hello everyone.
got something i need "expert" help with. i work in a type in lounge for a resdential place. we offer wifi internet in our lounge for the residents who live here. the problem is every now and then people will get kicked off the internet. They will be using it and then the next minute their computer will say trying to connect to the wifi but never does. although some other ppl whos still on the wifi are using it just fine. we fix the problem by reseting (unpluging the modem & router). Only problem is we find ourselves resetting it every 10 mins or so bc someone comes up with the problem.
now from my little knowledge with this, i am guessing its bc the router is giving some people the same ip address? so by resetting(unpluging) when the router comes back up it gives everyone new ip's?? thats just an uneducated guess. ANYONE know whats going on or how i can fix this?Even TRAINED field technicians know the way to fix it is to throw it in the refuse can. Top quality modem/routers run for weeks with no need to reset. Of course, the router/modem would be in a place where there is air circulation and a max temperature of about 86 F or 30 C, there are sensitive to overheating. Ask your provider for a better grade of modem and router combination. Models made by Two-Wire are popular and generally very RELIABLE. There are many other good brands out there. If new HARDWARE does not fix the problem, look for another service provider. You and not in the Telecoms business, they are. You don't have to put up with inferior service.
