Solve : Laptop can't connect wirelessly & stops other computers accessing the net?

Answer»

I am unable to access web pages wirelessly with my laptop, ALTHOUGH I can with my netbook and two wired desktop connections. I am able to access webpages on the laptop with a wired connection, but only by going through a convoluted process. I have to go into the LAN settings before I try to access a web page, go into the Support tab, and repair the connection. After it repairs, I can access web pages – but I can’t get a wireless link going with the laptop.
If I do try to use the laptop wireless it disconnects all of the other internet connections, which are two desktop PCs and a netbook.
ADSL and PPP lights on my Netcomm NB5plus4 modem stay on, as do the lights on my Netgear WNR2000v1 router. However, if I turn off the modem and router and restart them, I quickly regain Internet access on any machine (apart from the laptop, wirelessly, of course).
At times, though not always, if I have the laptop wireless connection on, and start up the netbook, or vice versa, an error message appears on the machine that was started second saying that there is an IP address conflict with another computer on the network.
Here are the ipconfigs for both machines when the wireless is on:

On both machines:
There’s no proxy or sharing the connection
Obtaining IP and DNS server addresses automatically (dynamic connection).
Symantec ANTIVIRUS is on the laptop but I can’t see any firewall that might be getting in the way.
The wireless adapter is on CAM (highest setting).
Wireless zero configuration is being used (if this is a possible conflict with the Netgear router I do not know how to fix this).
I am stumped. Any clues, please?
