Solve : Laptop cannot find a network. Worked before. Other laptops can find the network.?

Answer»

This laptop with Windows usually could find networks. Then there was a system error. Something with \Windows\System that wouldn't even get it to the Windows loading screen. I fixed that. And now, it seems it cannot find available networks. The only network it can find is a 1394 connection, which is "CONNECTED, but Firewalled". The network I want to connect to is named "homenetwork". It has security with a WEP key.

I do not know what the problem is. The laptop does have the SWITCH on that allows it to find networks. (The symbol that looks like a RADIO tower)

The other laptop is loaded with Windows 7, and is connected to "homenetwork" just fine.

The DESKTOP, the computer that basically is in control of the network, also runs on Windows XP, with a Linksys router.

I'm not really sure if you need specs. But the specs in my profile are the specs for the desktop.

EDIT: Just tried to connect the Ethernet cord into the laptop. From what I could see, no Internet that way either.Have you tried restarting wirless zero configuration?STILL no luck.
