i just recently installed UBUNTU on my laptop and can't seem to get the wireless working. Is there a simple solution for this. I know that Vista would automatically detect the settings, but I like the Ubuntu system better. My wireless stopped working while I had Vista, and installed Ubuntu

I have ATT DSL, but they have been no help setting up the system. Incidently, with Vista on the laptop, I get an error message that the laptop did not get a response from the 2wire GATEWAY (ATT)What kind of wireless does your laptop have? Is it a built in wireless card? Can you tell us what kind of hardware it is, in the sense of whether it's Atheros, or ANOTHER brand?Follow Aegis advise also check the manual for the laptop . U might may have turn off the wireless antenna/card accidently.it is usually a small switch or a fn KEY.
