Solve : MFP Server setup to WRT54GL Router problem?

Answer»

All right, I have old HP Deskjet 812C USB printer that I want to connect to LevelOne WUS-3200 USB/MFP Server with an ethernet port, which is then connected to a Linksys WRT54GL Wireless router. I have the drivers for the printer and I can install them so that the Print Server can recognize the printer but before I can do that I have to make my Router recognize the Print Server. But apparently my router doesn't recognize the Print Server. The LAN light on the printer server comes one for a few seconds when I first connect the power (while connected to the router as well) but then it disappears. Now the manual included with Print Server states that for Wired CONNECTION I SIMPLY have to connect an Ethernet cable from the Print Server ethernet port to the Router's ethernet port and everything will be fine. But this is not the case, if any one could assist me on this matter it would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.Quote from: Ironman on September 12, 2010, 09:01:20 PM

Hi, Ive been through a similar bunfight trying to connect a HP USB MFP to my network (with the same router as yours). I am not an expert by any means but I suggest you try and make your server visible to the network.

I would reset the server to factory.
If you dont know its default IP, then use a prog such as lan scanner to find it.
Log on to the unit and make SURE its set to static IP, and that its subnet and IP is within your network range.
Does your print server need software to connect it, mine does.
hope this is some help? Sorry for replying so late, but can you please clarify on the steps to access the printer server? Should I attempt to connect it to my router and then try entering in the factory IP address in a internet browser or should I use a different method? Once again I apologize for replying so late.Hi, what you have to do is find the ip address for the server, I use lan scanner for my network. When you have the ip adress enter the servers config and set the ip address to a static one within your routers network range. I access my usb server from a browser but I have a media player which I have to access through a command prompt. Try the browser first.

This is a link to a manual for it
