Solve : Monitoring software??

Answer»

This should be easy. I'm not a networking person so EXCUSE me if this is a dumb question. Is there some sort of software that I can run on one of my computers on my little SOHO network that will monitor ALL traffic in and out of all connected computers in the network and save it out as some sort of log file. My router is a Netgear WGR614 V7 and it has log capabilities. But I know it is not showing me some of the places that are surfed or all the other types of connections (ftp, POP3, etc.). One of my computers was attacked by the infamous XP Antivirus 2008 which downloaded a whole BUNCH of junk. My cable provider sent me a notice that "traffic with the characteristics of spam was being sent from one of the computers at my address". I look through the Netgear logs and don't see anything unusual. By using MALWAREBYTES, Stinger, AVG, a-Squared and others, I believe I have rooted out all the crap, but I want to make sure. Also, I would like to monitor where my 13 YO daughter is going. This trojan got downloaded when she was using it, and she either is not telling me where she went, or actually doesn't remember. One of the detection and removal tools said there were 2 trojan droppers, one in an MP3, the other in an AIF. These are audio files that she claims she got from Limewire. Limewire, as I understand it, is a standalone application. But it does connect through the Internet. So I should be able to get a log of this right?

Thanks.Have a look at these
You can find freeware alternatives too on Download.com

My advice is to get rid of Limewire ASAP - it's dirty and nasty and will always leave something unwanted on your machine, just like Kazaa used to!Quote
