Answer» Hi, Whenever I connect my MP3 player via usb I lose my wireless internet CONNECTION. Does anyone know why and how I can fix this? It's so annoying Thanks
Just read the "read this FIRST" TOPIC and realize I need to put more info on here - OS is Vista Home Premium. Wireless internet connection is through a zyxel usb adapter. MP3 is Sony NWZ-E436F, although I had the same problem with a previous Samsung MP3 player. Ta Laptop or Desktop computer?
What is its model number?
What Operating System?
When did it all start?Hi, It's a desktop - Packard Bell, can't REMEMBER or find the model number, Vista Home Premium and the mp3 is Sony NWZ-E436F. Started when I first connected my MP3 player about a week ago. Few seconds after it is plugged in the internet drops. To get the internet back I have to unplug mp3 player then disable the wireless internet adapter, then enable it again. I have just taken the whole computer upstairs and plugged into modem with ethernet cable instead of using the wireless adapter and the problem has gone. So it must be something to do with the wireless adapter/connection. Are they often incompatible with other usb devices? Looks like I'll have to invest in a very long cable and get the drill out! Wish there was a simpler solution. Any ideas? The extra USB device should have no effect on your Wireless. Does it happen with any USB device, or only the MP3?
When did this start?
If you go to Device Manager, are there any Yellow Question or Exclamation marks? It doesn't happen with any other usb device - I have a webcam that works fine with the internet. There are no yellow question or exclamation marks in device manager. Thanks for looking into this for me. This started a week ago and only when I plug the mp3 player in. Also happened with a previous mp3 player about a year ago.Desktop, correct? Not laptop?
Does the same happen when you plug the MP3 into the USB ports at the back?Just tried plugging it in at the back and the screen on the mp3 player started flashing like something was wrong (poss in time with the green flashes on the wireless internet adapter). Now the mp3 player wont work at all. Yes Desktop.Wow, very strange....
It doesnt work at all now? What about the computer?
Also, can you see if the MP3 works on another computer?Reset the mp3 player and it works again. It works fine with the internet on another computer that is connected via ethernet cable. Don't worry, have persuaded husband to do some drilling and I'll get an ethernet cable TOMORROW. Thanks for all your advice All right, no problem. I am curious as to why this happens though.....
Anyways, with this Ethernet cable, you will undoubtedly notice a great speed improvement when surfing the internet on your computer.
