Answer» I have a wifi connection to my home network but it will not connect automatically.
When I start my computer or wake it up from sleep mode I have to type my 10 number password to connect to the internet.
when I select my home network there is a option that says "connect automatically" I check it every time but it still will not connect automatically.
If anyone knows how to fix this PLEASE tell me.
Thanks for reading this. Can you let us know your full SYSTEM specs inc OS (windows XP, Vista) etc and how you are connecting to the internet, is it a router, modem? And are you connecting via cable or wireless? As much info as you can provide please. Windows 7 laptop with a wireless connection to my home network's 2wire. 2wire... I'm ASSUMING you have AT&T DSL internet right? (If you live in the states) Can you give us the model number of the 2wire router? It's LOCATED somewhere directly on it. Also, can you tell us what security you're using? WEP, WPA-PSK, etc? Here please click this link for the video i made on this:

The "connect automatically" box is checked already but my computer was not connected to the internet.Ok from the Video I see that Your model number is 2Wire071, and you're using WPA-PSK security. Unless thats is the name you gave the 2wire. I'll look it up.Yeah thats definitly not the model number. It's your SSID.The only computer I have with Wireless is Windows XP so I don't know if this is correct for Windows 7. Go to Network Connections Right Click on Wireless Network Connections Select Properties Click the Wireless Networks Tab Under Preferred networks select your network Click Properties Click The Connection Tab There should be a box to check "Connect when this network is in range" Ok it is working now, had to enable a hidden folder so my computer would save my network.
